A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE AUTHOR
WILLIAM GOLDING


William Golding was born in Cornwall in 1911. He attended Oxford where he began as a science major but later changed his major to English literature. During World War II, he joined the Royal Navy and achieved the rank of lieutenant. He participated in both the Walcheren and D-Day campaigns.Following the war, he began to teach and write.

Some of his works include: Lord of the Flies, The Inheritors, and Pincher Martin.

William Golding died of heart failure on June 19, 1993.
