Challenge students' knowledge of the book The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer with this fill-in-the-blanks review worksheet!

This fill-in-the-blanks worksheet is a quick and easy way to test or review students' understanding of main elements of Chaucer's classic book The Canterbury Tales.

How Does It Work?

The fill-in-the-blanks worksheets focus on key words in the book: people, places, things, symbols, and/or quotations. Students select the correct words (from a list) to fill in the blanks next to the clues that are given.

This PDF File Includes:

  • Cover, introduction, & copyright information
  • 1 page student worksheet with 20 fill-in-the-blank questions
  • 1 page teacher answer key

Save Money

Great alternative to buying the whole The Canterbury Tales Puzzle Pack if you just want the fill-in-the-blanks review worksheet!

Uses

  • Quick review of the basic, important elements of The Canterbury Tales
  • Already-made section of an end-of-the-book test for The Canterbury Tales
  • Easy activity for a substitute teacher to do with your class any time (days, weeks, months!) after they have read the book
  • This is best-used after students have read the whole book, so students will be able to "get" the clue answers.

Notes:

  • The sample pages are from a random title to give you an idea of the kinds of questions and the format. If I posted the actual The Canterbury Tales worksheet activity, unfortunately many teachers would use it without paying me for my work. (It's sad, but true.)
  • The materials in this worksheet are based on the Prologue and thirteen of the tales--tales by the Knight, the Miller, the Reeve, the Shipman, the Prioress, the Nun's Priest, the Pardoner, the Wife of Bath, the Friar, the Summoner, the Clerk, the Merchant, and the Franklin. The tales are not on separate worksheets; they are all together on one.

Print and use them all you want for your own students in your own classroom, but please (especially at this cheap price) don't share with other teachers.

Also, please do not use the words and clues in any online commercial resource like Quizlet or Boom Learning, for example (or any others). This makes answers available to all students, everywhere...and undermines the work of myself and other teachers. (And it violates my copyrights, subjecting you to copyright violation penalties.)
